Costner's pregnant wife has gone off to the Venezuelan jungle on an emmergency relief mission and been killed in a bus accident. Months after her reported death he begins to think that she's trying to communicate with him through dying patients, many of them children in the cancer ward. Sounds grim, but that's not the problem. It's just not a very good film, although director Tom Shaydac who loves doctor films ("Patch Adams" was his most recent) has added all kinds of scary apparitions, flashing lights, buzzing dragonflies to try to frighten you. They won't.
